Success from the inside out

Taking Spirit to Work

Welcome to Taking Spirit to Work

The offerings on these pages are for you if you’re someone who longs to know a deeper sense of purpose, or who trusts guidance from Spirit but loses it amidst the pressures of the workplace, or who knows work is calling you to step forward but the path isn’t clear.

You may know that spirituality is essential in making your work meaningful. Or maybe you’re hopeful or curious about the role spirituality might play.

In either case, you may find that you’re leaving your spirituality at the door when you get to work.

It’s easy to be confounded when imagining how to integrate Spirit into the oh-so-secular and consuming demands of your workplace. The thought of even talking about spiritual matters with your work cohorts may seem distinctly unwise.

But the need for Spirit at work is greater than ever. There’s so much to be disheartened by: feeling estranged from the prevailing values, overworked and underappreciated, and stressed beyond sustainable limits.

Learning to access an inner source of clarity, balance and optimism can transform your experience and maybe, just possibly, begin to transform your environment. Whether you’re a little curious or deeply passionate, you can bring spirituality into your working life in ways that are appropriate and safe for you and your particular work situation.

In Taking Spirit to Work I extend an invitation to explore together the many gifts waiting for us as we learn to integrate Spirit into our work lives.

Who am I?

I’m Nina Ham, senior psychotherapist, internationally certified coach, Meaningful Work specialist, and spiritual seeker for many decades and through many different portals. (Learn more about me here.)

While I don’t present myself as a teacher, nor am I promoting a single spiritual perspective or belief system, I know from my personal experience the astounding deepening of satisfaction, reward, focus and confidence that has accompanied the introduction of some very simple practices into my work day. I would like to share them with you.

I invite you to browse through these pages, look at the offerings below, and if you’re not already on the TSW subscriber list, click here to join. In addition to receiving updates about new offerings, you’ll get (approximately) biweekly “letters” from me (I prefer letters to blogs!) describing ways that Spirit - by that name or some other - touches down in people’s lives as they go about their work. These letters are intended to support and inspire you toward integrating your spirituality ever more deeply into your working life, and connecting you to a community of people who are on the same path.

If you're already on the Success from the Inside Out subscriber list, you will continue to receive those regular mailings with articles specifically focused on topics relating to career change and career development.

Offerings

Call-In to Spirit

Give yourself a chance to connect to Spirit in the midst of your workday by calling in, on a phone conference line, to a 20-minute group meditation period. We’ll be meeting Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays around lunchtime. For a nominal monthly fee you can join us as often as you’re able to, with no advance commitment necessary. Beginning Fall, 2012.

Additional Offerings Coming, Summer 2012

Graceful Career Search

"I do not understand the mystery of grace - only that it meets us where we are and does not leave us where it found us." - Anne Lamott

If you know you’re in the wrong work but don’t know how to find something that’s in line with your spiritual principles, this 8-week virtual course will weave together group meditative practices with an in-depth self-inquiry format that will reveal the elements of your personal “right work”. At its conclusion you will be both inwardly strengthened and practically prepared to move on to an accelerated career/job search.

Scheduled to launch Summer 2012. Subscribe to Taking Spirit to Work list to receive further details.

Graceful Productivity

“graceful”: elegant efficiency
“graceful”: divinely given, regardless of merit

When seeking to incorporate Spirit into how we work we’re confronted with the paradox of integrating the secular mandates to strive and achieve with a willingness to surrender to something transcendent. This 4-week virtual course will show you how to work with this paradox. You will learn to recognize your “sweet spot” where your divinely bestowed gifts are flowing through you with minimal disruption from ego-driven fears and concerns. You will also learn to identify your particular behaviors and attitudes that take over when you’ve momentarily left the sweet spot.
